To Protest Or Not To Protest - That Is Not The Question For The Left
Politicians nationwide have turned America into a fascist state bent on creating the worst economic depression since before World War II. Lockdowns have been led by liberal establishment government officials in states like Oregon, and in cities like Austin, Texas. “We all have to do our part. That is the only way we’ll get past this crisis,” pleaded Austin Mayor Steve Adler as he headed back to his downtown condo.
Neither progressives nor the Antifa crowd have not taken to the streets lately to protest the recent suspension of civil liberties and constitutional rights. “We are telling people to stay safe and sign the online petitions,” said local Black Lives Matter (BLM) activist Jayden Winston.
Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) activist in Bloomington-Normal Joel Studebaker stated “People are losing their jobs and can’t pay rent. We need a moratorium on rent and debt.” Studebaker urged people to act. “I hope @WGLTNews and @Pantagraph will be asking town officials about this,” Studebaker wrote in a Twitter thread. Demonstrating a trend across the left, Studebaker believes taking action means telling someone else they need to do something.
Groups like BLM and Antifa have been regularly seen disrupting city streets for years claiming the government was harming and killing people of color due to racism. Now their preferred method of getting that message out is online, but in places few working class black and brown folks would ever see.
“I gave a bunch of money to Bernie’s charity online. Somebody’s gotta step up,” commented Shaun King, who is among the thirty percent of Americans who did not pay their rent and remain hopeful a relief check was in the mail.
“I’m proud to be part of this movement,” exclaimed King. To date that movement had succeeded in giving cover to Democratic politicians like Bernie Sanders And AOC to go along with a bailout bill that gives crumbs to working class Americans but provided huge bailouts to corporate America.
Conservative activists are the only ones taking to the streets in recent weeks. Risking arrest, and willing to disrupt the normal workings of life, have been abandoned by the left and acceded to the right. “I guess the resistance or whatever you want to call it also takes orders from left-wing fascists like Governor Cuomo in their usual acquiescence to power,” concluded Austin teacher Mark Grimes who stopped to talk while running the streets of Austin with a face covering.
