AOC Says She Would Have Voted Against The Establishment In Corporate Bailout Bill

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez took to the House floor over two weeks ago and spoke vociferously against the Republican Party failing the American people on the Coronavirus relief bill, also known as the CARES Act. “The corporate bailout was huge but all the American people got was crumbs,” complained AOC on the House floor.

The bill came down to a voice vote and it sounded like only one or two individuals with deep voices could be heard on the no side. AOC may have just been drowned out in one more instance of patriarchy and the exclusion of women’s voices, so progressives have inquired whether she voted for or against the CARES Act.

“I would have voted against it,” responded AOC on Democracy Now!, a progressive news outlet that transformed from anti-establishment to anti-Trump since 2016. It took two weeks for AOC and her staff to confirm the hypothetical statement.

“It would have been a lot clearer if they would have asked and she responded in Spanish,” opined Maria Hinojosa, host of the Latnio USA podcast. “Spanish has strict grammar rules on using the language,” stated Hinojosa. “Then we would have known, was she using the subjunctive or the pluperfect subjunctive or the imperfect form,” concluded Hinojosa,  referring to the verb tenses that many Americans become confused with in their Spanish language classes.

“There should be shame with the choice we have to make here,” AOC condescended to her Republican colleagues. AOC did not share that shame with her Democratic partisans, or with herself, probably using the present imperfect form, but perhaps the conditional.

Critics of the Democratic Party argue that the Democratic leadership gave up their bargaining position to pursue a more progressive response later, which will likely never materialize. House Leader Nancy Pelosi responded “We couldn't win in Congress to get substantial relief for working people so we’re saying what the Conservative Right and Christians have been saying for years, that we should chip in with charity.”
